Everyone has their everyday carry essentials that their day just wouldn’t be right without. Maybe yours have been the same for years, maybe they change as you grow older, or maybe you haven’t figured yours out yet. After years of being a dad, husband, business owner, coach, and more, I have figured out my EDC essentials.
On any given day you won’t find me without a…
- Pen
I always have a good quality pen at hand. This could be a habit from my football coaching years. I’m constantly writing down notes, ideas, numbers etc. so I can’t live without this. Once I started carrying a pen, I wondered how I ever went without it!
- Wallet
My wallet is usually with me for obvious reasons, but it means more to me than the average man. My late father gave me this so keeping it close is extremely sentimental to me. I recommend splurging on a good quality wallet because it will last you so much longer. I personally own a Bosca wallet and it’s been good for many years now.
- Notebook
I value my leather notebook so highly. This EDC is perfect for all the thoughts and plans streaming through my head. I use it everyday to put field notes in. My notebook also holds all the business cards that I attain through networking constantly. Whether it’s daily thoughts and ideas, or remembering people’s names, it’s probably in my notebook.
- Pocket Knife
This EDC was instilled in me by a recent book I read that encourages every man to carry a pocket knife daily. I truly did not realize the amount of times throughout the day I run into situations that require me to use this knife. It is an awesome multi-purpose tool and a step of preparation I will never go without going forward. I use a Kershaw Clash Pocket Knife if you want to check it out!
Carrying these items helps me start everyday with a level of preparedness and confidence for facing every challenge that comes my way. I would love to know what your everyday carry essentials are and any feedback on mine! Be sure to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn for more daily content!
